IDENTIFICATION TECHNOLOGIES

The right choice
Selecting the appropriate identification technology is of the most importance in designing a company security system. There is a broad choice of existing technologies, from the current magnetic stripe card up to the proximity read / write tokens. Selecting the right one depends on many criteria :

security level to be guaranteed,
ergonomics of the badge,
identification accuracy,
badge and reader reliability,
reading process immunity,
cost of use,
compatibility with other applications.

Passive Proximity Readers

Both AH and AX proximity reader lines include standard 1,8 mm width cards and so called "ISO" thin cards, because their thickness is the same as a bank card, i.e. 0,78 mm. This latter card has special finishing surfaces designed to be printed, e.g. with colour text, drawings and photos. This card is also called "muti-technology card" because it may include also a magnetic stripe, an infra red bar code strip or a smart chip.

Other technologies

The AM reader and badge line is Mifare® compatible. The NCS® system includes biometrics techniques.
